Dr. J is an alumna of Colorado Mesa University where she earned a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Fitness and Health Promotion. After sustaining a torn ACL while playing college basketball, she went to physical therapy as prescribed by her surgeon and recovered enough to begin resistance training.
Approximately 1 year after recovery, Jordan found solace in the CrossFit community where she began to grow stronger and build up what had been lost in her physical fitness. An ego-based low back injury occurred during a CrossFit class that caused shooting pain down her left leg where no position provided comfort or relief. Remembering her bachelor’s education, she began to put it to use by performing rehab exercises that were core based and low impact cardio…but it wasn’t enough to resolve the issue. Dr. Jeremy Garcia, a friend and chiropractor at her CrossFit convinced her to make visits to his practice to help with the healing process. He explained about nerve impingement, subluxation, alignment and how when those things are resolved, the body is able to heal at its highest capacity. For the first 8 visits, Jordan could not sit up, or put weight through her feet for the first 15 minutes post adjustment. After those 8 visits, she felt better than ever and continued her visits until the day she decided to be the one who can help others in this way. This cascade of events helped her discover her calling.
She attended Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California, earning clinical honors for going above and beyond the patient care and management requirements. For the past four years Dr J has worked in a specialty sports rehab practice and recently relocated to California to be back in the sun and share the health.
Dr. J loves basketball, snowboarding, camping, reading, lifting weights, and dad jokes.
Hi! My name is Dr. Lisel Lewis. Chiropractic changed my life, and I want to help you improve yours, too!
I started playing tennis at age 4 and competed in USTA Southern California sectional and national tournaments throughout my junior years. I received a full scholarship to a Division 1 university, where I played as the number 1 player for all 4 years of college. I thought that injury was inevitable and that I would just have to deal with pain for the rest of my life. Thankfully, chiropractic care has given me hope for a pain-free body.
Although, pain relief is not what changed my life. A chiropractor taught me that anxiety and depression are linked to an overstimulated central nervous system, which can put your body into a fight or flight position. My sympathetic nervous system was overworked, and prescription medications were not the route I wanted to take for my health. Thankfully, consistent chiropractic care has given me long-term relief and improved my mental health for the rest of my life.
